NZFC support awarded for our ShelfLife project!

We’re super stoked and excited to announce that ShelfLife was awarded the NZ Film Commission’s Whakawhanake Te Ao Niko funding round for 2020!

We received really positive feedback from the NZFC panel, and are delighted to be included for this round of support + funding alongside 8 other extremely fresh interactive projects being tackled by New Zealand creatives. We were particularly thrilled to see so many of the projects picked up feature diverse and culturally important themes including explorations of identity, ancestry, queerness and environmentalism!

The Whakawhanake Te Ao Niko - Interactive Development Fund exists to support the conceptualisation and development of original, narrative-focused, interactive content within Aotearoa.

Teams and individuals awarded this fund (including us) will be supported in the process of putting together creative materials, story/design assets, interactive elements and playable prototype(s) suitable for accessing appropriate further funding and financing within the marketplace.

As a Team we’re really excited about being given this support as it will help us allocate more time and energy into the development of ShelfLife over 2021, and allow us to organise more opportunities for consultation and collaboration to bring additional perspectives and voices to the project.
